In this passage, we have two accounts of Jesus appearing to His disciples: firstly, on the night that He rose from the dead, and then, secondly, a week later. On both occasion Jesus welcomes the disciples with the peace that only He could bring – a peace that comes through His death and resurrection, a peace that brings with it our forgiveness and a restored relationship with our creator God.
