A son has been born to Abram named Ishmael, and now Ishmael was 13 years old. And so Abram, our father in faith, thought he had everything sorted out when it came to God’s will for his future.  But Abram was in for a lesson from God, as God makes a new covenant with Abram, in which Abram is called to act on his faith in what God is promising him – a son, born to he and Sarai.
