This is a translation and paraphrase of Homily 10, from the First Book of Homilies. Because of the nature of the politics when it was written, Allan has had to edit this homily more than normal. However still the Homily is good to remind us that, in His sovereignty, God has appointed people to leadership – and so, as a result, we are to submit to their rule and pray for them.
