Having skipped over Homily 7, Allan turns to Homily 8, where the author warns us away from turning away from God. For, when we turn away from God, we then take the risk that, if we do not repent, God may turn away from us. So this is a homily through which we are encouraged to put God and His Word first in our lives, out of our thankfulness to Him.
