Today we transition from the Old Testament behind to start on the New. In this we look to Jeremiah chapter 31 where God promised to establish a new testament, or a new covenant, with humanity. We then look at how this new covenant will be established by God’s King, the Messiah, who will somehow be a descendant of King David AND God Himself. We then turn to the start of Luke’s Gospel to see these promises beginning to be fulfilled through a baby whose name means, “God is Salvation’.
